The SAT and ACT

The SAT and ACT are tests that students are required (usually one or the other, but many students take both) to take when applying to college. They are supposed to measure how well a student is capable of performing in college, by testing them on basic reading, writing, math and reasoning skills. How well these tests accomplish that is open to debate, but colleges use these tests to decide who is accepted and who is rejected. The good news is that these tests are very coachable, and students can vastly improve their scores with home tutoring.
